Otis Ray Zeigler

1935-2007

Otis Ray Zeigler, 71, of Magnolia, died May 2, 2007, at University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb and 9 a.m. Saturday until services there at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Randy Dunn and the Rev. Troy Bankston officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Zeigler was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Gillsburg to Julius N. and Mattie M. Brooks Zeigler.

He was a retired dairy farmer and was a member of the Dairyman's Association, now known as Dairy Farmers of America.

He was a charter member of Unity Baptist Church in Magnolia and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Zeigler was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward Zeigler; and two sisters, Elmese Nichols and Beatrice Ready.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Vera Lou Freeman Zeigler of Magnolia; two sons and daughters-in-law, James R. and Charlotte Zeigler of Magnolia and Larry and Sheila Zeigler of Tylertown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Andrew Deere of McComb and Barbie and Jerry Cox of Brookhaven; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Opal Zeigler and Jay and Dee Zeigler, all of Magnolia; four grandchildren, Chris Zeigler, Crystal Pittman, Jodi Hutson and Samantha Zeigler; one great-granddaughter, two great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Don Honea, Scott Weeks, Kelly Honea, Vernon Morris, Chris Zeigler, Chris Hutson, James E. Zeigler, Anson Morris and Reid Estess.
