Helen Day Thomas

1919-2008

Helen Day Thomas, 88, of McComb, died May 13, 2008, at McComb Extended Care. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. The Rev. Robert Bingham will officiate, with Jones Family Funeral Services of McComb in charge or arrangements.

Mrs. Thomas was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Jayess. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Molly Slater Day. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in McComb and was a retired businesswoman.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mitchell Thomas; one son, Mitchell Day Thomas; and one sister, Kathren Murrell.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Mark and Brenda Thomas of McComb; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam Thomas Ellis and husband Wayne of Clinton; six grandchildren, Suzanne and David Ellis, Megan, Corey, Nichole and Daniel Thomas; several great-grandchildren; and one niece, Brenda Lane.
