Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. Saturday at New Heights Baptist Church, until services there at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Rick Kennedy and Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mrs. Stovall was born Nov. 26, 1910, in McComb. She was the daughter of James Monroe and Fannie Reedy Williams.
She worked many years for McComb Manufacturing Co. She and her husband were former owners of Stovall Mattress Co. and she was a devoted homemaker. She was a lifelong member of New Heights Baptist Church (formerly East McComb Baptist Church), where she was the oldest member. Until her health prevented her attendance, she was active in many aspects of the church. She sang in the choir, was active in WMU, taught an adult Sunday School class for many years and attended all weekly services. She enjoyed traveling and had been to many foreign countries. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Stovall was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar A. Stovall, whom she was married to for 51 years before his death; two brothers, Ray Williams and Howard Williams; and a granddaughter, Rhonda Kay Scott.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Janette Scott and Betty and the Rev. Howard Brister, all of McComb; three granddaughters, Cindy Bracey and husband Larry, and Rebecca Chase, all of Hattiesburg, and Robin Herrington and husband Mike of Vicksburg; two grandsons and their wives, Robby and Elizabeth Scott of McComb and Dr. Glenn and Janeth Brister of Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Melissa Rouse and husband Gene of Vicksburg, Melanie Herrington, Rachel Chase and Megan Chase, Josh and Jacob Bracey, all of Hattiesburg, Laura Brooks and husband Kevin of McComb, Kristin Bracey of Birmingham, Ala., Dusty and Cody Scott of McComb and Jonathan Brister of Tennessee; great-great-grandchildren, Trevor, Peyton and Morgan Rouse, all of Vicksburg, and Destiny and Abigail Brooks, both of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; a good friend, Anna Nimon of McComb; and the loving and caring staff of Community Hospices of America.
Pallbearers will be Mike Herrington, Robby Scott, Gene Rouse, Kevin Brooks, Larry Bracey, Dr. Glenn Brister, Josh Bracey and Jacob Bracey.
