Joseph R. “Joe” Rayburn

1985-2008

Joseph R. “Joe” Rayburn, 22, of Ruth, died April 26, 2008, at his home. Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at New Life Apostolic Church in Summit and 9 a.m. Wednesday until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Patten and the Rev. Marc Rutland will officiate. Burial will be in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery under direction of Jones Family Funeral Services, McComb.


Mr. Rayburn was born Sept. 5, 1985, in McComb. He was the son of Jose Illescas and Vickie Turner.
He had been an ironworker for R.K. Wallace Construction since he was 18 years old. He was a member of New Life Apostolic Church in Summit and a graduate of Enterprise High School. His family and friends said that he was always a hard worker and had fun no matter what he was doing.

Mr. Rayburn was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jose Illescas; his grandmother, Maria Luiss Peineds; two uncles, Carl Eugene Rayburn and Carlos Peineds; and four aunts.

Survivors include his wife, Tiffany Champagne Rayburn of Ruth; a son, Deston Blade Rayburn of Ruth; his grandparents, Carl E. Rayburn Sr. and Marion Rayburn of Ruth; his stepfather, Abair Turner; his stepmother, Pat Illescas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Tracy and Jennifer Billiot of Jayess, and Jeremy and Wendy Rayburn and Stacey and Candy Rayburn, all of Ruth; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Torrie and Marc Rutland of Larto, La., Nichole and Frankie Cannon of Ruth, and Maria Illescas of Houma, La.; 12 nieces and nephews, Jessie Powell, Kelly Rayburn, Adelyn Rayburn, Kaylee Rayburn, Hannah Rayburn, Lilly Bell Billiot, Larissa Rayburn, Dylan Rutland, Lane Rutland, Dalton Billiot, Collin Rutland and Gavin Cannon; aunts and uncles, Doug and Jere Sue Rayburn, Gary and Mary Rayburn, Larry and Flo Rayburn, Prissy and Johnny Olivier and Tammy Babin; and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Billiot, Jeremy Rayburn, Stacey Rayburn, Marc Rutland, Jake Babin, John Falgout, his son Deston Rayburn, Tim Bowman and Kyle Smith.
