Joseph Fry Odle Jr., 88, of McComb, died Feb. 28, 2008, at
Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Memorial services are 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Jones Family Funeral
Services in McComb. The Rev. Fred Cook will officiate. Burial will
be in Boca Raton Mausoleum in Boca Raton, Fla.
Mr. Odle was born March 15, 1919, in Camden, Tenn. He was the son of
Joseph Fry Sr. and R.E. Odle.
He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II in the South
Pacific. He graduated from the University of Virginia College of
Law. He also served a term in the Tennessee House of
Representatives.
He retired after working many years with the National Labor
Relations Board in Cincinnati.
Mr. Odle was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mauhee K. Odle; a
sister, Mildred Odle; an aunt who raised him, Nelle Odle; and a
great-great-niece, Madison E. Wagner.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia O. Edelson of Winston Salem,
N.C.; a brother, Frank P. Odle of Cape Coral, Fla.; a niece, Judi
Duncan and husband Steve of Summit; a niece, Julie Hantgon and
husband Roy of Winston Salem; a nephew, Robert Edelson and wife Jane
of Mount Laurel, N.J.; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews, and five
great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
