Charles Lee Munsell, 80, of Magnolia and formerly of Amite, La., died Dec. 17, 2006, at McComb Nursing and Rehab.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb and noon Wednesday until services there at 1 p.m., with Mr. Munsell’s son, Steve officiating. Burial will be in Sharkey Cemetery in Amite, La.
Mr. Munsell was born Dec. 31, 1925, in Arlington, Ky. He was the son of Charlie Roy and and Dora Trafford Munsell.
He was a retired telegrapher with Illinois Central Railroad and worked for Mosler Safe Company. He was also a retired self-employed truck driver.
He was a member of Montpelier United Methodist Church in Montpelier, La., and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Munsell’s family said he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cared deeply for his family. He loved the outdoors and loved fishing and golf.
Mr. Munsell was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara Jean Muscovalley Munsell; his second wife, Para Belle Dykes Munsell who died in April of this year; a brother, William Orville Munsell; and two sisters, Mary Case and Anna Munsell.
Survivors include five children and their spouses, Steve and Luan Munsell of Denham Springs, La., Judy and Twig Webb of Magnolia, Gene and Glenda Sharkey of McComb, Tim and Elsie Sharkey of Kentwood, La., and Henry L. Cox of Amite; a sister, Martha Jackson of Paducah, Ky.; 15 grandchildren, Lacey Roebuck, Nathan Munsell and Jordan Webb all of Denham Springs, Russ Munsell and wife Misty of Watson, La., Shawn Mulkey and wife Elizabeth of Shawnee, Kan., Michael Mulkey of Baton Rouge, Danny Sharkey and wife Kylie, Jessica Venable and husband Daniel, Taylor Sharkey and Haileigh Sharkey, all of Kentwood, Becky Bowlin and Katie Bowlin, both of McComb, Casey Bowlin and wife Kim of Long Beach, Roger Cox of Pine Grove and Farrell Cox of Jacksonville; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Rowland of Denham Springs and Zoe and Ian Mulkey of Shawnee, Kan., and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
