Virgie Martini McDaniel, 85, of McComb, died Jan. 27, 2007, at McComb Extended Care.
Visitation is today at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until services at 10 with the Rev. Ted Bowlin officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Osyka.
Mrs. McDaniel was born March 13, 1921, in Tangipahoa Parish, La. She was the daughter of Iley Winston and Dinkie Strickland McDaniel.
She was retired from American Wirebound Box Co. She was a member of South McComb Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shelton Brown McDaniel; four brothers, R.C., D.C., Johnnie and Kennon McDaniel; and five sisters, Nanny Brown, Tincie Little, Susie Rhodus, Mary Dee Warren and Bessie Lee Varnado.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Shelton “Shot” McDaniel and Peggy of Terry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Robert J. Wally of McComb and Dianna and John Brister of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Robyn Jordan and husband Chris, Renee’ McDaniel, Robert Preston Wally and wife Dale, Ryan Shelton Wally and fiancee Allison White, Christopher Shawn McDaniel and fiancee Betsy Potin, and Lauren M. Cox and husband John; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Wally, Robert Preston Wally, Chris Jordan, Christopher Shawn McDaniel, Phil Laciura and Chris Laciura. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. McDaniel's nephews.
