Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Johnston Station Baptist Church, and 9 a.m. Tuesday until services there at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gary Grammer and the Rev. Glenn Bird officiating. Burial will be in Old Johnston Station cemetery. Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. May was born Aug. 24, 1916, in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of James Curtis Greer and Annie Elizabeth Lawrence Greer.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Johnston Station Baptist Church.
Mrs. May was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon May; four brothers, Seth Greer, Willie Troy Greer, Curtis James Greer and James Carlos Greer; and four sisters, Lelia Anabell Sproles, Vivian Lee Herrington, Sylvia Williamson and Sallie Louise Eitel.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon Gilbert and Faye May of Summit and Randolph and Mary Jean May of Central, La.; two sisters, Floyd Jeanette Thompson of Summit and Iva Lee Nations of Ferriday, La.; three grandchildren, Gary May, Lisa Jean McGuire and Martha Abraham; five great-grandchildren, Jessica McGuire, Melissa McGuire, Austin Abraham, Taylor Abraham and Kyle Vernon May; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
