Lillie M. Matthews, 64, of McComb, died March 6, 2008, at her
residence. Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Jones Family Funeral
Services in McComb and 10 a.m. Saturday until services there at 11
a.m. The Rev. Rick Kennedy will officiate. Burial will be in Pike
Memorial Gardens in McComb.
Mrs. Matthews was born March 8, 1943, in McComb to Clyde E. and
Mildred Easley Lazarus.
She was a homemaker and a member of East McComb Baptist Church. Her
family said she was a loving wife, mother and “NaNa.”
Mrs. Matthew was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers,
Charles “Charlie” Lazarus and Clyde Ray Lazarus; and a son in-law,
Bruce Coffey.
Survivors include her husband, Aubrey Matthews of McComb; a son and
daughter-in-law, Alan and Michelle Matthews of Summit; two daughters
and sons-in-law, Pam and James Daniel of Summit and Cindy and James
Travis of McComb; a brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Betty
Lazarus of the Auburn community; two sisters and a brother-in-law,
Mary Lou Crittenden of Smithdale and Norma Lynn and Kenneth Dunn of
McComb; four grandchildren, Matt Coffey, Abby Matthews, Cole
Matthews and Shelby Travis; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law
and nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501
St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
