Visitation is from noon Thursday at New Bethel Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Jayess, until services there at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Larry Reed, the Rev. Kenneth Patten and the Rev. Sam Ham officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Jones Family Funeral Services of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Etheridge was born March 16, 1935, in Walthall County. He was the son of George and Goldie Etheridge.
He was a member of New Bethel Jesus Name Pentecostal Church. He was a painter. His family said that he was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Mr. Etheridge was preceded in death by his wife, Marquiette "Jackie" Bollinger Etheridge; his parents; one daughter, Joy J. Etheridge; one brother, Phillip Etheridge; two sisters, Bronis Lee and Dorothy Kennedy; and a brother-in-law, Emory Ham.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-laws, Richard "Ricky" Etheridge and wife Deindra, and William "A.J." Etheridge Sr. and wife Virgie, all of New Orleans; one stepson, Larry Jackson and wife Paula of Tennessee; one daughter, Emily "Cheryl" Etheridge Patterson and husband Stephen of New Orleans; two brothers and one sister-in-Law, Arlie Etheridge Sr. and wife Mary Jo of Summit, and Walter Tate Etheridge of Jayess; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Donis Ham and Ilean Brister, both of Jayess, and Relda Cade and husband J.W. of Walker, La.; one son-in-law, Herman William Jr.; 26 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends included devoted friends to the family, Lashun Doyle and Douglas Melancon.
Pallbearers will be Sharod Patterson, Sean Patterson, Jamario Etheridge, Raymond Etheridge, Billy Etheridge and Arlie Etheridge.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy and Doy Burnette, Terry Moran Sr., Louis Etheridge, Herman Etheridge, William "A.J." Etheridge Jr., Richard "Little Ricky" Etheridge, Stephen Patterson and Herman William Jr.
