Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in McCall Creek, and 2 p.m. Saturday until services there at 4 p.m. Bro. Hollis McGehee, Bro. Joe Felder and Bro. Aaron Lamb will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Jones Family Funeral Services of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dyess was born Nov. 16, 1944, in Franklin County. She was the daughter of Frank and Rubye Jones Taylor.
She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Auburn Grocery for many years.
Mrs. Dyess was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Cecil Taylor; and one infant daughter, Shannon Dyess.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, James C. “Jay” Dyess of Smithdale; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clay Dyess and Paige of Foxworth, and Turner Dyess and Brandy of Gulfport; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelley Moore and Terry of Nashville, Tenn.; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Morie Delaughter and Julian of Natchez, Nell Smith and Sherill, and Jonita Hancock and Tom, all of Smithdale, Shirley Schaal and Allen of Mount Pulaski, Ill., and Peggy Hartsfield and Jim of Oxford; and six grandchildren, Carson, Caleb and Carter Dyess, Tyler and Tucker Moore and Wyatt Dyess.
