Caleb Cole Avery

Caleb Cole Avery, 2 months old, of McComb, died March 30, 2008, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be 8 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb until services there at 10 a.m. The Rev. Chad Yarbrough and the Rev. Millard Moak will officiate. Burial will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Tylertown.

Caleb was born Jan. 31, 2008, in University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was the son of Samuel and Amanda McKenzie Avery.

Caleb, along with his mother Amanda, were members of Union Baptist Church in Tylertown.

“The family would like to use the passing of Caleb as a lesson of the frailty of life and that we, as parents, should enjoy the time we have with our children. The family had a short time to love Caleb, but that love will last them a lifetime. He will be sadly missed,” the family said.

Caleb was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Avery; his great-great grandfather, Clark McKenzie; and his great-great grandmother, Sarah Thorton.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Trey Dear of Tylertown; two sisters, Alexis Mathis of Haynesville, La., and Mc-Kinzy Mathis of McComb; paternal grandparents, Gary and Sylvia McKenzie of Tylertown; maternal grandmothers, Faye Eckler of McComb and Linda Ervin of Summit; paternal great-grandparents, Marion and Frances McKenzie of Tylertown; maternal great-grandparents, William and Mary Brumfield of McComb and George Stinson of Tylertown; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Billy Avery, Johnny McKenzie, Chad Smith and Aubrey Carroll.
