Helen Cutrer Burkhalter

1929-2007

Helen Cutrer Burkhalter, 78, of Magnolia, died Jan. 24, 2007, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Visitation is 10 a.m. Friday at Bala Chitto Baptist Church until services there at 1 p.m. with Dr. Dave Hartson officiating. Burial will be in Burkhalter Cemetery. Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Burkhalter was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Magnolia. She was the daughter of Willie Cutrer and Maude Newman Cutrer.

She was retired from the South Pike School System, where she was a school bus driver. She was a member of Bala Chitto Baptist Church in Magnolia.

Mrs. Burkhalter was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice Burkhalter; an infant son, David Burkhalter and two brothers, John Cutrer and Thomas Cutrer.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Bobbe Burkhalter of Madison, Ralph and Hazel Burkhalter of Magnolia and Jerry and Shawn Burkhalter of Albany, La.; one brother, Lamar Cutrer of Magnolia; four sisters, Margie Rimes of Magnolia, Lucy Givens and Willie Mae Cutrer, both of McComb and Bonnie Williams of Gillsburg; four grandchildren, Stephanie Burkhalter of Seattle, Bethany Burkhalter of Lockport, La., Megan Burkhalter of Albany, La. and Bailey Burkhalter of Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
