Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at East Union Baptist Church in Magnolia and 1 p.m. Saturday until services there at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Johnny Roney and the Rev. Emon White officiating.
Burial will be in Durham cemetery. Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brown was born Feb. 5, 1946, in Pike Count, to Ellery and Yvonne Durham Brown.
He was a member of McComb Church of God of Prophecy. He had been night auditor/clerk at Super 8 Motel in McComb for the past nine years.
His family remembers him as a special part of their lives. He was always doing something to help someone and loved spending time with family and being outdoors. His family said he had a heart of gold. To know him was to love him, and he and his family and friends loved each other very much.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Billy Joe Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Brown of Sorrento, La.; a son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Tanya Brown of Richland; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen May and Loraine and Lavell Roberts of Magnolia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Amanda Brown and Bruce Brown of Magnolia and Jan Brown of McComb; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Rayborn, Tommy Gatlin, Kye Kelley, Albert May, Scott McKenzie and Ricky Laird.
