Bruce Dannie Brown, 64, of Magnolia, died May 1, 2008, at his
home. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Jones Family
Funeral Services in McComb. Visitation will continue 1 p.m. Sunday
at East Union Baptist Church in Magnolia until services there at 3
p.m. Dr. Emon White will officiate, and burial will be in Durham
Cemetery in Magnolia.
Mr. Brown was born June 6, 1943, in Pike County. He was the son of
Ellry and Yvonne Durham Brown. He was a retired diesel mechanic,
having worked at McComb Diesel, Day Motors and Pike Rental. He also
served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of East Union
Baptist Church.
Mr. Brown loved to hunt and fish, and he passed that passion on to
his grandchildren, as well as to his nieces and nephews. He was a
simple man and a good man who loved his family. He will be sadly
missed by all.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Rodger
Dale Brown; and one nephew, Billy Joe Johnson. Survivors include his
former wives, Brenda Cameron McDonald, Ivy Brown Lambert and the
mother of his children, Janice Brown; one son, Danny Bruce Brown Jr.
and his wife Ginger of West Lincoln; two daughters, Yvonne Boyd and
her husband Teddy of Summit, and Cindy Brown and her friend Raymond
Johnson of Magnolia; one brother, Larry Brown of Ruth; two sisters,
Helen May and Loraine Roberts and her husband Lavell, all of
Magnolia; six grandchildren, Dalton Brown, Joshua Brown, Katelyn
Boyd, Kasie Boyd, Karie Boyd and Cassandra Brister; and numerous
nieces and nephews whom he was very close to.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Cooksey, Johnny Cooksey, Rusty May, James
Johnson, Tommy Gatlin, Aaron Lang and Buddy Anthony. Honorary
pallbearers will be Kye Kelley II, Billy Morgan, Shaun Brown, Doyle
Graves and Lavell Roberts.
