Visitation is 6 to 9 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb, and 9 a.m. Saturday until services there at 10 a.m., with Rev. Gary Grammer and the Rev. Glen Bird officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in Summit.
Mrs. Boyd was born March 19, 1926, in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of Jessie and Lucy Lawrence Kyzar.
She was a member of Johnston Station Baptist Church. She was retired from the Pike County Health Department after 18 years of service.
Her family said she was a loving, giving spiritual wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, reading and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She devoted many years to helping her husband on their catalpa worm farm. She was a nine year cancer survivor. Mrs. Boyd was one of ten children.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Boyd; one brother, Bertran Kyzar; two sisters, Orell Haralson and Bertile Kimble; and a special niece, Sandy Boyd Rials.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Teddy and Yvonne Boyd of Summit; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Willie “Sonny” Mason, Becky and Mac McEwen and Stacey and James Beck, all of Summit; three brothers and their spouses, James Elton and Mary Kyzar of Wesson, Calvin and Joyce Kyzar of Flora and Lawrence and Ladys Kyzar of Bogue Chitto; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Geraldine and Ford Young of Summit, Verla Smith of Brookhaven and Norva Lee Reeves of Bogue Chitto; seven grandchildren, Dustin Beck, Katie Boyd, Kasie Boyd, Karie Boyd, Bonnie Dugger, Tracy Mason, and Matt Mason and wife Shari; four great-grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, Kavan and Tera; special friends, Betty Richardson, Ramona Hall and Andy Watson; special doctors, Henry Lewis, Clay Hays Jr. and Bobby Graham Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lowrey Kyzar, Michael T. Smith, Danny Reeves, James Young, Glen Young and John Haralson.
