Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb, and 10 a.m. Friday at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church at Carter’s Creek until services there at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Wayne McCullough and the Rev. Michael Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Boyd was born July 11, 1906, in Pike County. She was the daughter of George W. Daniels and Annie Belle Collins Daniels.
She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church at Carter’s Creek, where she was a member for 80 years. She was raised in the Felder’s Campground community and attended the old Eaton School. She was a lifelong resident of the Carter’s Creek and Pricedale community.
Her family said Mrs. Boyd was a loving mother and grandmother and loved to be around everyone, especially her grandchildren and other children. She loved to spend time reading and teaching children and always had a smile and lots of love for those around her.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie E. Boyd; one great-granddaughter, Candice “Candy” Thomas; three brothers, Johnny Daniels, Robert “Buddy” Daniels and Ottis Daniels; and three sisters, Ruby Guy, Helen Boyd and Eunice Carney.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Harry L. and Barbara Boyd of Wichita Falls, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pearl and Paul Young of Pricedale and Loretta Leuthauser of McComb; five grandsons, Eddie Leuthauser, Teddy Leuthauser, Rickey Young, Kevin Boyd and Craig Boyd; two granddaughters, Mitzi Mitchell and Judy Killingsworth; 12 great-grandchildren, Steven Leuthauser, John Leuthauser, Karla Leuthauser, Travis Leuthauser, Shaun Mitchell, Shannon Tarver, Scott Mitchell, Tommy Joe Killingsworth Jr., Jeffrey Killingsworth, Stephanie Lewis, Stuart Boyd and Andrew Boyd; three great-great-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rickey Young, Kevin Boyd, Craig Boyd, Eddie Leuthauser, John Leuthauser and Tommy Joe Killingsworth Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of the church.
