Lois Whittington Billings, 93, a former resident of McComb, died
Feb. 27, 2008, at Myles Retirement Center in Jackson. Graveside
services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollywood Cemetery, with the Rev.
Nick Evans officiating. Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb is
in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Billings was born Jan. 9, 1915, in Brookhaven to John and
Beulah Whittington. She was a member of Christ United Methodist
Church in Jackson and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Billings was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,
Harry Dickerson Billings; and brothers and sisters. Survivors
include her daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Taylor of Jackson; three
grandchildren, Shellie Trahan of Metairie, La., Harriet Heckel and
husband Neal of Plano, Texas, and Jimmy Taylor and wife Martha of
Crystal Springs; seven great-grandchildren, Chris Trahan and Megan
Trahan, Benjamin Warren, Blake Heckel, Kyle Heckel, Jenny Winstead
and husband Shan, and Amber Riley and husband Michael; a
great-great-grandson, Cole Winstead; a brother-in-law, Earle Norwood
Billings and wife Dorothy of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law,
Peggy Billings of Trumansburg, N.Y., and Carol Billings of Columbus,
Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
