Harry Gene Alexander

1930-2007

Harry Gene Alexander, 76, of McComb, died Jan. 21, 2007, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale and from noon Wednesday until services there at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Gibson and the Rev. Ron West officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alexander was born March 7, 1930, in Pike County. He was the son of Caytes Alexander and Estelle Boyd Alexander.

He was a retired truck driver and most recently was head of security at the Mississippi Welcome Center at Osyka. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Edna Merle Alexander; one son, Terry Jon Alexander; two daughters, Barbara Jean Gilliland and Regina Ann Gerkin; and one brother, McClain Alexander.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Arlette and David Noice of Elsmere, Ky.; two brothers, Jimmy Dale Alexander of Summit and Jesse K. Alexander and wife, Carol of Bogue Chitto; three grandchildren, Brandy M. Alexander and fiancé David Privatte of McComb, Braden E. Alexander and wife Heather of Jayess and Stephen Lane Alexander of McComb; three great-grandchildren, Bradley Eugene Alexander, Halee Regina Alexander and EmaLeigh Grace Privatte; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Braden Alexander, Stephen Alexander, David Privatte, Percy Alexander, Todd Alexander and David Noice. Honorary pallbearers will be Robby McCullough, J.R. Privatte and Mitchell Reid.
